OUTCOME:
Upon completion of the course, Students will acquire experimental knowledge on the unsymmetrical
bending of beams, finding the location of shear centre, obtaining the stresses in circular discs and
beams using photoelastic techniques, calibration of photo – elastic materials.

1. Constant strength Beams
2. Buckling of columns
3. Unsymmetrical Bending of Beams
4. Shear Centre Location for Open Section
5. Shear Centre Location for Closed Section
6. Flexibility Matrix for Cantilever Beam
7. Combined Loading
8. Calibration of Photo Elastic Materials
9. Stresses in Circular Disc Under Diametrical Compression – Photo Elastic Method
10. Vibration of Beams with Different Support Conditions
11. Determination of elastic constants of a composite laminate.
12. Wagner beam
NOTE: Any TEN experiments will be conducted out of 12.
