AIM:
To explore the design and form of building typologies that are the result of pressure on urban
lands with a thrust on issues like urban land economics, technology and ecology.
OBJECTIVES:
To create an awareness with regard to the design of green buildings and sustainable
architecture.
To inculcate the importance of services integration and construction in spatial planning in
the context of design of High-rise buildings and service intensive buildings.
To highlight on the importance of High rise buildings as elements of identity in urban areas
and urban design principles that govern their design.
To explore computer aided presentation techniques involving 2D and 3D drawings, walk
through and models as required.
CONTENT:
Scale and Complexity: Advanced and complex problems involving large scale Multi-storeyed
buildings and complexes for Residential/ Commercial/ Institutional/ Mixed-Use in an urban
context with focus on visual characteristics, service integration and sustainable practices.
Areas of focus/ issues:
sustainable building practices, green issues, alternative energy
intelligent building techniques and service integration
Architectural Detailing
Advanced building practices
Typology/ project: office building, multi-use centre, convention center, multiplex, corporate
complex, health care and hospitality building
