UNIT II INTERPHASE MASS TRANSFER 12
Interphase Mass Transfer – Local and overall mass transfer coefficients – Steady state
co current and counter current mass transfer process – Stage and stage efficiencies –
Concept of NTU and HTU – Equilibrium and operating lines – JD Factor –
Equipments for gas-liquid contact operations – Bubble columns – Tray towers and
packed towers.
UNIT III ABSORPTION 12
Gas Absorption: Principles of absorption and desorption – Selection of solvents for
absorption – Tray tower absorber – Absorption factor – Calculation of number of
