AIM
To experimentally determine the load characteristics on various types of AC/DC Motors and
also study on the generator and alternators circuit arrangement.
OBJECTIVES
After the completion of this course students gain knowledge in fundamentals of Electrical
Engineering and the operational and design aspects of DC and AC motors and drivers.
LIST OF EXPERIMENTS
1. Open circuit characteristics of D.C. shunt generator.
2. Load characteristics of D.C. shunt generator
3. Load characteristics of D.C. compound generaor
4. Load test on D.C. shunt motor
5. Study of D.C. motor starters
6. O.C. and S.C. tests on single phase transformer
7. Load test on single phase transformer
8. Load test on 3 - phase squirrel cage induction motor
9. Study of 3 - phase induction motor starters
10. Load test on 3 - phase slip ring induction motor
11. O.C. and S.C. tests on 3 - phase alternator
12. Synchronization and V-curves of alternator
