UNIT II MOLECULAR REARRANGEMENTS 12
Wolff rearrangement – Schmidt reaction – Curtius rearrangement – Mechanism and
applications – Oxidation mechanism – Applications of the following oxidation reactions –
KMnO4 – MnO2 – Stereochemistry and applications of the following reduction reactions –
Catalytic dehydrogenation – Meerwein-Ponndorf-Verley – NaBH4 – Clemmenson.
